How did you get into cosplay?
From when I was younger I loved playing video games with my older brother. I also always tried to steal his comics to read. So my whole life I was fairly invested in what makes comic con a comic con. I learned to sew as I got into my teen years. I utilized sewing as a hobby. I made my halloween costumes and until Tucson Comic Con back in 2010 I only dressed up in October. I attended Tucson Comic-Con in 2010 and dressed up because I knew that was part of the fun. I met charity costumers and joined various Arizona charity costuming groups. From there I expanded and because a professional cosplayer.
Who was your 1st cosplay and why?
The first costume I initially tried to make up to the utmost accuracy that I could was Harley Quinn from Arkham Asylum. I wore her to Tucson Comic-Con and so maybe people appreciated my hard work. All of this costume was sewn by hand and I came up with various tricks to lower expenses in making Harley.
What do you geek out about?
Video games mostly. I love the Halo series and with the announcement of Halo 5 and the master chief collection I am even more excited to share my love of Halo. I also love the Legend of Zelda series. I have a triforce tattoo. I also have a kirby tattoo due to my love of Super Smash Bros. And Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts tattoos as well. This is an obvious hint to which video games I’m most invested in. I also enjoy lots of the current TV shows that are going on. Walking Dead and Game of Thrones made my year!
When you’re not cosplaying, what do you enjoy doing for fun?
Volleyball Volleyball and more Volleyball. I play 2-3 times a week. I’m on a professional league and also play with friends for fun. I also love running. I take dance classes as well. I’m currently learning the waltz.
What would your dream job be?
My dream job would be to become an artist in some way shape or form. My drawing skills are not the best but it would be awesome to work around that and paint. I would also like to become a professional seamstress and dream of making wedding dresses for a living.
What do you enjoy most about cons?
I enjoy the traveling portion of cons the most. I love seeing new cities and getting out in the world. I feel blessed to be able to do this so frequently. My favorite places I have visited are Seattle and Philadelphia. I want to eventually become international and see the different countries of the world.
