How did you get into cosplay?

Between being an actor and Halloween being my favorite holiday- costumes have always been a huge part of my life. My parents used to have an awesome Halloween Party and of course we had to have the best costumes. For their last year of having the party, I was still deciding what to be when I sent Todd Coyle of Todd’s Costumes a question about his Xena costume. I idolized Xena when I was kid and it had always been a dream of mine to get that costume. Todd not only answered my question but then set the wheels into motion with my cosplay career. He had taken a look at my website, seen some photos of me, and then Todd asked if I would be his live model of Xena at his booth at Stan Lee’s Comikaze in 2012! What an experience. I was hooked. While over the years I’ve created some more fantastic cosplay costumes, Xena is still my ultimate favorite to wear and what I have become most known for.

Who was your 1st cosplay and why?

Xena Warrior Princess was my first cosplay ever and I’m so thankful to Todd’s Costumes for asking me to be his live model at Stan Lee’s Comikaze in 2012!

What do you geek out about?

I’m kinda like a 14 year old boy when it comes to movies. I love sci-fi action films. I would love to be in a series like Underworld or Resident Evil. I think we need more movies with female leads kicking ass.

When you’re not cosplaying, what do you enjoy doing for fun?

Dance! I love dancing. My absolute favorite dance classes are in NYC at Broadway Dance Center. I also love to Kick-Box! It’s not only an incredible workout but also makes me feel really fierce!

What would your dream job be?

Starring in the next big musical on Broadway! Or the next Sci-Fi Action movie! Or the reboot of Xena Warrior Princess! 🙂

What do you enjoy most about cons?

My favorite is seeing peoples creativity come out in cosplay. Whether it is a complete replica of a character or a mashup or even gender bent. I’m so in awe of peoples talent and ideas when it comes to cosplay. I also enjoy looking at the various artists artwork. If I had the space I would absolutely collect artwork. I think I’m basically drawn to creativity of all kinds.
